Show Wood

The M5 comes standard with Mahogany stained show wood arm fronts and is available in the 4 STANDARD SHOW WOOD colours or removed show wood (full-length arm) on request.

The M5 bariatric lift chair has a 320kg seat capacity, 75kg foot capacity and a great range of standard and optional features and modifications that make it the first choice for premium bariatric lift chairs.

Pressure Care

As standard, the M5 comes with pressure-relieving Dunlop memory foam in the seat and as an optional extra can be made with additional memory foam in the footrest and arms. We can also fit the M5 with a recess in the seat for a pressure cushion of your choice, Oscar Furniture is a distributor of ROHO, Equagel, JAY and XSeat pressure cushions.

For best pressure relief results we recommend using the Oscar FUSION fabric which can stretch in 4 directions, allowing the memory foam to better conform to the client’s shape.

MECHANISM

The M5’s class-leading Australian-made mechanism with 3 independent motion actions and 320kg lift capacity is the culmination of years of research and development by our in-house team of Engineers. Reliability was a key focus of the M5 development process which is why we put it through thousands of lift cycles while weighted above its rated capacity at each stage of development, which has resulted in the most durable bariatric mechanism on the market.

Typically clients with fluid buildup in their legs will put huge stresses on the footrest of a lift chair, the combination of the weight of the leg and the friction of the client’s shoes on the carpet when lifting the footrest is a common cause of breakages for most bariatric lift chairs, but not for the Oscar M5. At 75kg safe working load for the footrest alone, the M5 has been engineered to have the highest capacity independent footrest lift on the market.

CONTROL SYSTEM

The Oscar M5 has been built with 4 commercial grade electric actuators from Linak that allow separate control of the backrest, lift and footrest. This means you can adjust the chair into exactly the right combination of backrest angle, sea height and footrest height for the client’s best comfort. The controller is unique to the M5 with large symbols, a ‘press & hold’ button and a handy “Home” function that returns all adjustments back to the seated position. As standard, the M5 comes with full 24v battery backup which is essential for the client’s safety in the event of power outages.
